Beer was integral to the Viking way of life. It might be a rumour - it might be the truth: Beer was the real reason why Vikings adventured out into the world. Plundering, raiding and pillaging, the Vikings grew rich in their loot. But no treasure was more sought after than Odin’s lost beer helmet.
Legend has it that in a fit of mad drunken rage, Thor, the god of thunder, accidentally hurled the beer helmet down to Earth. Odin’s wrath had no end when he discovered this treasure was lost. He ordered that all Vikings on earth should go forth and find it, proclaiming that whoever could help him find the helmet would be granted all the secrets of the beer craft.
And so the quest of the Vikings began. Little more needs to be said except that they found the magical beer helmet. The heavenly secrets of craft beer were brought back to Denmark, where the community of beer makers used this knowledge to make their own legendary brew... Mad Viking.
